Carleton users have the Google Workspace for Education Plus license. Under this license, Google is not allowed to use any data you enter in Gemini for further AI training. Google Gemini is approved for use with all data classifications. However, users should always carefully consider whether it is appropriate to enter sensitive data into any LLM in the first place.
Additionally, please note that any apps you may find in Google Marketplace are not covered under the data protections in our license. If you download any of these applications, it is your responsibility to read and understand the End User License Agreement.
Apps included in the basic Gmail account but not listed on our Workspace page may not be covered under our license. This includes apps such as Maps, News, Travel, Translate, and YouTube.
