December offers many opportunities to relax, recharge, and engaged with research or special projects. During this Year of AI Curiosity at Carleton, December is a great time to do some light listening and reading to spark your AI imaginations, consider your AI concerns, and learn more about how others at Carleton are exploring the implications of AI for work and play. Here are some of our favorite resources:
If you haven’t thought about AI much yet, here are 3 resources we recommend:
- Read President Byerly’s Year of AI Curiosity announcement
- Watch an intro video about GenAI (5 minute video by Jules White)
- Use Gemini and ask it for suggestions about something you care about
If you have a basic understanding about AI and what to build on that, we recommend:
- Listen to Year of Curiosity podcasts, starting with President Byerly’s podcast
- Peruse the resources available at the AI @ Carleton site
- Ask either Gemini or Adobe Express to create an image for your next party, publication, report, or syllabus
