Adit Burkule

Adit Burkule joins ITS as the new Director of Technology Support. He will oversee the Helpdesk, PEPS, and hardware/software procurement to deployment process. Adit has spent his entire professional career in higher education while holding increasingly responsible positions in Information Technology. His most recent role was IT Services Manager at NC State University Libraries where he led desktop support, communication services, Audio Visual support and Help Desk operations. He holds the Master of Science and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Adit is excited to be part of Carleton and hopes to create many collaboration opportunities with the campus community.

Adit is moving to Northfield with his wife Shanie and special needs dog Papu. He enjoys traveling, cooking flavorful plant based meals, and exploring nature. He is excited to be able to enjoy seasons having lived in mostly tropical climates. His current interest is whittling walking sticks.

Rick Shangle
Rick Shangle

Rick Shangle

Rick is excited and honored to join ITS as a System Administrator in January 2022. His IT career includes stints in consulting, implementation and training at Datalink Corporation (now a division of Insight), hyperconverged solution vendor SimpliVity, and systems/executive support roles at engineering firm/former client WRA LLP. He holds a Bachelors of Science in CS from Virginia Tech (‘95), and his professional passions include delivering training programs, technology assessment, information protection, and reporting/documentation.

Rick will relocate to Northfield from suburban Washington D.C. early this year. He enjoys loud music, cooking, service work, and learning from other’s life experiences while sharing his own. He’s also a lifelong cat-lover and writer (since age 4 for both, anyway). He looks forward to meeting Carleton’s great teams very soon, and learn from them the secret of not freezing in -20 degree Minnesota Winter before it’s too late.

Matt Klooster

Matt Klooster

Matt has been at Carleton for a little over three years working as the Director of the Summer Liberal Arts Institute (formerly known as Summer Academic Programs). Prior to joining Carleton he was a professor of Biological Science and Environmental Studies (expertise in plant ecology) for eight years at Centre College, KY, and he also served as the Director of Community Service and the Bonner Scholars Program.  He holds a bachelors in Biological Sciences from Xavier University and a PhD from University of Cincinnati. He is excited to use his gifts of strategy, ideation, and empathy as well as his experience with systems level thinking to advance the SEAMS Project as the Senior Project Manager in ITS.

Matt is married with two kids (Evy 8 and Gavin 5). In his free time he enjoys oil painting and running a small art business. He finds inspiration and satisfaction in the great outdoors, hiking and exploring Minnesota’s natural landscapes.

Isaiah Ramos is a data analyst and software developer with years of experience in educational and higher educational technologies. He graduated from Cal State University, Bakersfield with a B.S. in Computer Science in 2013. He is joining the ITS-EIS team as an Enterprise Analyst/Developer and is excited to begin training on the various platforms Carleton currently utilizes.

In his off time, Isaiah tends to indulge in a multitude of activities including creative writing, playing music on his sax or piano, or designing video games. Though he has no particular affinity for sports, he will often be found running around with his daughter in some sort of imagined game. Isaiah is very open-minded, ready for new experiences, and always eager to meet new Star Wars fans. His favorite motto is: “There’s no better time than the present to start making the future.”
