Check out the redesigned Weitz 235.
Weitz 236 and the AGH Meeting Room have also had their technology updated over the summer to add hybrid functionality.
Carleton now offers Adobe Express licenses to all students, faculty and staff. This web-based tool in the Adobe family provides intuitive options for poster, video, and image design. The Adobe Express blog contains ideas and tips on how to use the tool effectively. Associated with the tool (and with the other tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud) is Adobe Firefly, one of the generative AI tools Carleton supports. Adobe Firefly’s responsible use of generative AI is based on having trained its AI on Adobe-owned stock images and on fair compensation of the stock image creators.
Google Gemini is available to everyone at Carleton as a generative AI tool to practice with. The LTC, WAC, and ITS are offering a series of drop-in hours during Fall term where you can experiment with different generative AI tools.
You may have heard that Google is discontinuing Google Jamboard this October. With the help of a group of faculty, academic technologists have been testing various digital whiteboard options. We are extending this testing through Fall 2024. For right now, please remember that Zoom also has a digital whiteboard function. You do not need a Zoom meeting to take advantage of this tool.
Academic Technology is continuing its Ed Tech Lunches, offering opportunities to learn about and practice with a variety of instructional technologies. Join us each Thursday.
