Final Push of Email and Storage to the Cloud

22 February 2018

We are entering the final push to move files from Home and Collab to the cloud. A number of things need to be completed by March 30th, although not every item will apply to every person. Every faculty and staff member will get a checklist via email within the next week detailing which things ITS believes apply to them.

If you have questions or want more help, ITS is offering drop-in sessions twice per week. In addition, we’re happy to provide small group or departmental trainings. Call the Helpdesk at x5999 for more information.

By March 30th:

  • Move all data stored in your Home directory to Google Drive or Dropbox
  • Consider the contents (if any) of your WebPub directory
  • All Collab: Departments data needs to be moved to Drive or Dropbox
  • Any folders in Collab: Projects that you are responsible for need to be moved to Drive or Dropbox
  • Data for college committees that you are responsible for needs to be moved to Drive or Dropbox
  • All mailing lists (using Sympa, with an “@lists.carleton.edu” address) need to be moved to Google Groups
  • (Also happening on March 30th: Deadline to sign up for Duo two-factor authentication)

By June 1st:

  • Remaining Webpub directories will be moved to a new server
