This summer, ITS was updating Carleton’s technology environment and preparing for the future. This issue will share some classroom computer changes, updates on available software, and how to get support during this week before classes begin. Welcome back!

Academic Technologists will be offering Drop-in hours on September 5th from 1:30-3:30 and from 11am-2pm on September 6th-8th. Over the weekend (Sept. 9th & 10th), the ATs and Helpdesk staff will be checking for urgent issues a few times per day. Connect with the ITS Helpdesk by phone call, ticket, appointment or visit to the CMC.

Generative AI tools, such as Google Bard, can help your routine work be a bit more efficient, and, maybe, more effective. At the same time, there are some significant cautions. The most recent East Laird Times has specific advice about AI syllabus statements and using AI tools for course design and/or academic work.
