Task Force Formed To Look At Gender Identity Data In Our Systems Of Record

5 October 2015

The ITS Enterprise Systems Advisory Group (ESAG) has formed a new campus task force to investigate how Carleton can better meet student expectations about gender identity in our systems of record. This is specifically important to individuals whose gender identity may not be reflected by their current medical and/or legal sex.   The task force is charged with researching and documenting the information currently available in our systems of record, including but not limited to gender, sex, first name, and nickname.

In addition to documenting our current practices, the task force will also be asked to recommend enhancements for the future. These enhancements may require working with our vendors in order to improve future reporting to appropriately reflect awareness and sensitivity while still meeting standardized reporting requirements.

Questions and ideas can be directed to task force members, listed below.
