Projects of Interest:
Evaluate and implement call tracking packages
Our current call-tracking software, used to track calls to Rapid Response, is increasingly a hindrance to getting calls answered quickly and efficiently while communicating their status back to the original customer. After evaluating a number of newer packages, the project team has determined “Web Help Desk” as the most appropriate tool for our Help Desk application, and is implementing it with a go live date of June 15th. Financial Aid Data Warehouse Project:
This is the second data warehouse subject area project, and involves bringing financial aid data from Colleague into the data warehouse for the purpose of analyzing awarding trends and expenditures. Data will be able to be linked to existing student dimension data as well as admissions dimensions data from the first data warehousing project.

PEPS OneCard Web Interface:
Until recently, PEPS has not been able to charge for small consumables such as DVD’s, jewel cases, tapes, etc, but has spent thousands per year on this type of media for faculty, staff and students. Mark Heiman has written a web based interface in Reason that enables PEPS to swipe a person’s “OneCard” on a keyboard and use Schiller dollars to pay for these small consumables. This interface in currently in beta with PEPS. Once finalized, there will be other offices across campus that will be able to also use this interface for charges to a person’s OneCard. This interface takes the place of needing an expensive card reader for some locations. ITSProjectID00143

Recently Completed – Kudos!
Parent/Guest Access to The Hub:
Parents and others can now access student information in The Hub if the student grants permission. Until recently, there has been no parental access to student information in The Hub. Parents, students and the Business Office has been strongly suggesting that this is something that needs to be available. This project explored the possibilities of provisioning them into the Hub, the implications of them getting direct access to student information, and what information should be available to them. As of today, students can log into The Hub, assign a userame and password to a parent or other person in their life. Access is completely managed by the student. As of now we have 332 guest account set up by students. ITSProjectID00141
OnBase migration to SQL:
The OnBase system is made up of two key components: (1), the actual files for the documents, and (2), the database that contains the metadata that references those files. Until recently, our database was an Oracle database. The vendor is able to provide us with better technical support if the database is Microsoft SQL Server (2005). Migrating the database also eliminates driver and server version skew issues between OnBase and Advance. ITSProjectID00178
