COMPLETED: Network maintenance during Spring Break March 19-29th

3/29/25: Maintenance has been completed. Please email the ITS Helpdesk at helpdesk@carleton.edu or call 507-222-5999 if you encounter any issues.  [note: there have been reports of multi-function printers hanging at a “device setup” screen. That can be resolved by turning the printer off and then back on.]

2/25/25: ITS will be conducting network maintenance to improve network redundancy, reliability, and stability across campus wired and WiFi networks. These controller updates will impact some of the 1000+ access points on campus. This maintenance will disrupt the network to differing degrees on several distinct days during Spring Break (March 19-29th). March 19, 20th and March 29 are most likely to impact your work.

WiFi controllers networking updates.

Over the two days, some clients' connections may drop as we do rolling maintenance work on WiFi controllers. Any outages will be brief.

Old Servers network migration

Most services in the data center will be down for an hour. For instance, you will not be able to login to any on campus resource that requires Single Sign On. Internet access will still work on WiFi and on wired connections.

6:00 - 7:00 AM

Maintenance work on our core network switches in the data center.

Campus-wide network outage for one hour between 6 and 7 AM. There will be NO access to the Internet through WiFi or wired network connections. Please use your cellular access, if necessary.
