On Tuesday, March 25th, from 11am to 6pm CST, Reclaim Hosting, Carleton’s Hosting provider for CarlSites, will be migrating our server infrastructure to a new system. This process is being done to maintain security and performance on CarlSites.
Although we expect no downtime during the process, you may see an “Account Suspended” page temporarily during the migration window. We ask that you do not make any changes to your account during the maintenance period or any changes you make will be lost.
As a result of this migration:
- All unsecured FTP connections over port 21 will be restricted and require all users to use SFTP protocols or FTP over SSL/TLS connections.
- Omeka sites using older Neatline plugins may experience database issues. This applies to any plugin or module not updated since 2019.
- MySQL version 5+ will be replaced with MySQL 8+.
- Remote MySQL connections will be removed and will only remain by special request
- Any domains managed outside Reclaim that point to our current server’s IP address will need to repoint their DNS to the server’s new IP at the time of migration.
If you have any questions or experience database issues with your websites after this migration, please contact the ITS Academic Technologists by emailing at@carleton.edu.
