Carleton’s wiki software (wiki.carleton.edu) is about to move from a local server on campus to a cloud-based server. This move is planned for Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Two things in particular will be different after the move:
- The URL will change from wiki.carleton.edu to carlpedia.atlassian.net.
- The look and feel of the user interface will be new and fresh.
What you need to do:
If you don’t manage content on Carlpedia, you don’t need to do anything. Just be aware of the wiki’s new URL after March 20th.
If you manage content on the wiki, please don’t make any updates on wiki.carleton.edu after 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. After the move, use the new URL carlpedia.atlassian.net for wiki access.
Note for content editors on Carlpedia: Please log into the new server using your Carleton credentials via Google. There may be a waiting period to obtain admin approval after logging into the new server for the first time.
Why we are doing this:
Atlassian, the vendor that provides the software, no longer supports a local server version. We are moving to their cloud-based server to continue using the wiki software.
