19 February 2015

Hiring new employees can be a daunting task, especially if you are looking for a person with a wide range of skills.  Faculty and staff make Carleton the great place that it is, and we all want to hire people into positions who will thrive and drive the college forward into the coming years.  If you are hiring for a position that has a technical component, or requires a certain level of technical skills, please know that the staff in ITS are available to assist you in a variety of ways, including

  • Participating in the hiring team
  • Providing technical questions for the interview process
  • Evaluating resumes
  • Assisting with the writing of job descriptions with technical components
  • Sitting in on in-person or phone interviews to help with evaluations

    Hi Julie,

Know that I do encourage hiring managers to reach out to you and your teams when hiring positions that have a technical component.

I encourage hiring managers to bring in people outside their departments to access and interview candidates, it brings a different perspective in the evaluation process.
