Meet the new software systems advisory group

5 November 2014

The ITS committee structure has been recently remodeled to improve the way we make decisions, get advice and recommendations, and inform the campus of current and upcoming projects and initiatives.

One of four new advisory groups is the Enterprise Systems Advisory Group (ESAG). This group meets regularly to discuss current and future initiatives in the world of enterprise software systems, giving advice and recommendations on strategic projects. Topics include both existing software on campus as well as proposed new purchases.  Members of ESAG represent their divisions and departments, so if you have something on your mind, please let them know.  The discussions at ESAG are intended to inform decisions and prioritization of ITS projects and future initiatives.

ESAG will periodically form task forces and working groups to address and explore specific topics, such as the PCI compliance task for that has been meeting to evaluate campus PCI technology needs.  If you feel a new task force is needed, or if you’d like to volunteer for a task force, please contact a member of ESAG.

In addition to launching a new committee structure, ITS has also been making changes in the way we think about communication.  While you may never see communications from our advisory committees, you should expect to see a higher level of communication directly from ITS.

While ESAG works with ITS to give advice and recommendations on decisions and prioritizations, please know that you can and should continue to bring projects, issues and ideas directly to the appropriate ITS staff as you have in the past.
