Sometime between 6 and 7 pm today (Sept. 14th), Zayo (Carleton’s ISP) will replace a defective device used to connect Carleton and St. Olaf to the Internet. During this time, the two colleges will be disconnected from the Internet. This service disruption is anticipated to last approximately 5 minutes.

Carleton’s Internet service provider has learned of a problem with one of the devices that connects Carleton and St. Olaf with the Internet. They rebooted the device at about 11:30 am today (14 Sept 2010), which caused a brief (3-minute) outage, during which time Carleton was unconnected to the Internet.
Sometime between 6 and 7 pm today, they will replace the defective device. The two colleges will experience another brief period of disconnection from the Internet.
We recognize that service interruptions can be disruptive to your workflow, and Carleton always strives to keep them as brief as possible. (This particular service interruption is outside our control.)
