Email disruption, all fine now

A hardware issue in the Merit.edu datacenter caused a failure in many of their hosted services, including email for Carleton and many other members of the Merit network. Once the error was discovered, Merit engineers worked to revert the change that caused the problem and to then bring services back online. We estimate that the total downtime was about six hours from start to finish, varying a bit by service. As of 8:00 am on Sunday, Sep. 14, all services have been restored to normal operation.
