Faculty around the world know how to deliver online content. Many have been doing it for years, and for others . . . it’s been a trial by fire over the past several months. Much of this educational content is delivered through videos. However, creating videos—especially those with educational aims and goals—is a skill that takes knowledge and practice to hone.

Dann Hurlbert, Media & Design Specialist at Carleton College, has been providing expertise and resources to help instructors create excellent and effective instructional videos for years. In a new series of research-based tutorials, he details and demonstrates the characteristics of what he calls the “Perfect Instructional Video.” Each new tutorial (and its associated activities) can help instructors transform their videos from a “rough gem into a polished and effective diamond.”

The entire collection is available on the “Perfect Instructional Video” homepage, which is live now.

Here’s a look at the series overview.
