Carleton’s New Online Password System

Have you ever forgotten your Carleton password or username? Good news! The process for resetting your login information is now easier than ever!

Up until recently, when users forgot their Carleton login information, they needed to personally call the ITS Helpdesk to reset their password. This led to problems where users could only call during Helpdesk hours, or the Helpdesk was overwhelmed by a high-volume of requests in a short period of time.

Now, you can use Carleton’s new Password and Account Management service.

Password & Account Management:

First, you’ll need to set up your Password Recovery options. After that, if you forget your password, you can simply enter your username and then select the password recovery option that you set up in order to change your password. If you do these steps, there’s now no need to call the Helpdesk — it’s all online!

We highly recommend adding one or two alternative (non-Carleton) email addresses, although they are not required. If you don’t have an alternate email address, you can set up password retrieval using your mobile phone here.

Username Recovery:

This is mostly useful for alumni — if you have forgotten your Carleton username, you can simply enter your primary email address after clicking Forgot Username. Your Carleton username will be displayed like in the example shown. It will also be emailed to you.
