RESOLVED: Regional Internet Issues

At approximately 3:50pm MetroNet (the campus’ internet provider) experienced a regional partial internet outage. Many websites are slow to load or may fail to load properly.

Update 7/2/2022: MetroNet has resolved the infrastructure issues. Internet traffic should now be flowing properly again.

More Information: Fiber-optic lines had been cut and have now been repaired. During the time when the internet wasn’t fully unavailable in the region, internet traffic was unable to flow efficiently due to BGP failures (failures of the system that routes traffic through the most efficient routes available). This resulted in slow page load times, or even failure to connect to some pages before the connection timed out.
