Carleton College administered a Parents Survey in April/May 2012 along with other institutions in a consortium of highly selective colleges and universities. We sent invitations to one parent for each enrolled student. The response rate was 53%.

Among the findings:

  • 98% of respondents said that they were “satisfied” or “very satisfied” overall with their son or daughter’s Carleton education.

  • 84% would “definitely” encourage a high school senior who resembles their child to attend Carleton, and another 11% “probably” would.

  • 99% of respondents indicated that their child’s experience at Carleton is worth the impact on their finances.
