Staff Survey, Spring 2019 Executive Summary

The Staff Survey was conducted as a collaboration between Human Resources and Institutional Research and Assessment during Spring 2019. The instrument was distributed by email to 526 staff members. A total of 447 surveys were completed for an 85% response rate.

Rate of First-Generation New Students at Carleton and Other Highly Selective Colleges

In 2012, only 10% of new students at Carleton were first-generation, which was less than most other elite national co-ed liberal arts colleges. However, from 2012 to 2020, the percentage of new students at Carleton who were first-generation increased to 16%, which places Carleton squarely in the middle of elite national co-ed liberal arts colleges.
