On a sunny Thursday during Week 1 of the term, all the ISL leaders and mentees gathered outside Sayles to meet our groups for the first time. After splitting into groups, everyone sat down to enjoy a delicious lunch from Tokyo Grill and get to know one another better. My mentees discussed how they felt about their first few weeks living in a new country and how they were navigating the start of college life. They also were able to get to know each other better, creating a strong dynamic for future group activities. I offered advice on staying in touch with friends at home when there’s a large time difference and also showed my mentees how to use the confusing printing system! Overall, the Mentee Meet and Greet was a great way to bond as a whole group and gave mentees the chance to learn more about their mentors.
