ISL and IEC Breaking Bread
Students, staff, and faculty members attend the Breaking Bread- Uniquely Global Event

In collaboration with the Division of Inclusion, Equity and Community (IEC), ISL co-hosted the Breaking Bread/ Uniquely Global event during Week 8. We invited students, faculty, and staff from over 20 countries of whom are the only people representing their country on campus, and encouraged them to suggest a bread-like food to share with others. While there were more bread and carbs than I would’ve expected at an event, it was fascinating to see the variety and how different cultures had bread: while some were meal-like, we also had dessert breads like the Turkish delights. Some highlights of the events were the Scottish potato scone and the Paraguayan Cheese bread. It was a great opportunity to meet people from countries I’ve yet to encounter, for example, this Chilean professor from the CAMS department, and a great opportunity to collaborate with other offices and share resources.
