ISL Pop Up

At ISL, we planned a pop-up event on the chapel lawn for outdoor activities like soccer and volleyball. We also brought games like Jenga, which we played at one of the outdoor tables. We served ice cream and popsicles to keep people cool during the hot weather. Even though the weather was perfect for these kinds of outdoor activities, at first, not many people showed up to the event to play with us. So we (the International Peer Leaders) took it upon ourselves to get the event started. We started playing volleyball there and we had a really fun time. I remember my serves were impossible to return. Eventually, I got tired and enjoyed some popsicles. By that point, a lot of international students started gathering at the event and started a volleyball game of their own, which got quite competitive, coming down to the last point. When the event ended, I felt bad that we had to ruin the fun early, as we needed to clean up. This event was such a success that we decided to host it again later in spring term, which went similarly well.
