Hi, my name is Patrick and I’m a senior Political Science major. I’ve moved around quite a bit in my life. I am Lebanese but was born in the US. I lived in the US until 2016, when I moved to Lebanon, where I stayed until coming to Carleton.
Favorite thing about Carleton: Definitely the community. Even though this is a cliché answer, it really is true. We have a small, tight-knit community, so everyone kind of knows everyone. You are probably two degrees of separation from knowing anyone on campus. It is also a really friendly, accepting, and supportive campus. The professors here are also a real strength of Carleton. They genuinely care about their students and want to see you succeed.
Clubs: I definitely plan to be involved in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Club this upcoming year. It provides a good sense of community, hosts fun events, and of course, good food.
Hobbies: I enjoy traveling, hiking, basketball, history, movies, and trying new foods. Some of my favorite TV shows and films are Schitt’s Creek, Money Heist, Better Call Saul, Farewell My Concubine, The Shawshank Redemption, West Beyrouth, Malcolm X
