7 February 2017

Bio LabYour generosity can transform science education at Carleton.

Through Endowed Funds

Endowed funds can create a lasting legacy of support for science education, including scholarships for science students, lab supplies, campus visits from notable scientists, and more. Gift officers can help you establish a new fund or identify an existing fund for your contribution, such as the Laurence McKinley Gould Science Scholarship or the Hamilton Scholarship for Women in Mathematics, Engineering and the Sciences.

Through Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities at a range of capital gift levels are available in Carleton’s new science facility, which breaks ground in fall 2017.

Examples include:

  • $100,000: student gathering space
  • $250,000: optics lab
  • $400,000: physics laser room
  • $500,000: maker space
  • $1 million: computer science classroom
  • $1.5 million–$3 million: teaching lab
  • $2 million: interdisciplinary collaborative laboratory
  • $10 million: chemistry, computer science, or psychology laboratories

Through a Planned Gift (The Heywood Society)

Anyone who makes a planned gift of any size—such as a will provision or trust—is welcomed as a member of the Joseph Lee Heywood Society. Your planned gift can be designated to support the sciences at Carleton. If you’ve already included a gift for Carleton in your will or retirement plan, or would like to explore a gift that supports the sciences and also increases your retirement income, please call 507-222-4200 or e-mail planned-giving@carleton.edu.
