Field Goals

Field GoalsIn his four years on the Carleton football team, Conor Crimmins ’03 found more than competition on the gridiron.

“Carleton athletics left an indelible mark on my life,” Crimmins says. “On the field, it was the shared experience of every athlete: pain, sacrifice, pride, victory, and defeat. Off the field, the guys I played with became my roommates at Carleton and after. They were there the night I met my wife. They were my groomsmen. My business partner. And they are godparents to my sons.”

The former lineman still has skin in the game, volunteering as chair of the steering committee for the Carleton Athletic Initiative (CAI), which supports varsity, intramural, and club sports at Carleton. CAI also plans to team up with the ‘C’ Club board to strengthen the network of alumni athletes.

Donations to CAI now count as Alumni Annual Fund gifts — a special point of pride for Crimmins. “Having CAI as a part of the overall AAF will leave a lasting impression on Carleton athletics for years to come,” he says.
