Please join us for events in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day!

4pm - 5pm Artist Talk:  Pathos Along a Contemporary Frontier: Border Paintings by Rigoberto Alonso Gonzalez - Baroque-inspired paintings explore contemporary issues affecting the Texas-Mexico border region  - presented in partnership between the Department of Art & Art History, Indigenous Engagement in Place team, and the Division of Inclusion, Equity, and Community

5pm - 6pm Dinner: food from El Triunfo

6pm - 8pm Film Screening: Warrior Women - the story of mothers and daughters fighting for Native rights in the American Indian Movement of the 1970s - presented in partnership between the Indigenous Engagement in Place team, the Division of Inclusion, Equity, and Community, and the Office of Intercultural Life

 

ONGOING - Warrior Women exhibit in the Library, expanding on the stories shared in the Warrior Women film
