The Plague (La Peste, in French)

by Albert Camus

I was fascinated by the central character, the unidentified narrator, who related the events of the plague, confined to one area in Morocco, and how various characters understood the pandemic, tried to explain it, or at best, dealt with it. He was a doctor and handled the cases as well as he could, without holding blame or worrying too much about the cause. One’s actions define one.
