Staff from the Carleton Liberal Arts Institute visited Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake, the public exhibit at Hoċokata Ṫi, the cultural center of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
The goal of this visit was to deepen staff’s understanding of Indigenous tribes and their histories across Minnesota to help them host summer opportunities in Indigenous studies for students, K-12 teachers, and undergraduate faculty.
