Now that you’ve finalized your student enrollment into Carleton, the onboarding process begins. As a first-generation student, the first steps of college may seem overwhelming or challenging to navigate.

New Student Week
New Student Week (NSW) is your first week living on campus. This week is dedicated to welcoming new students to campus with events, campus tours, group activities, information of campus resources and the ability settle in and make new friends! Find more here.
NSW First Generation Reception
All incoming students and their families are welcomed to join Carleton’s First Generation community during New Student Week at the First Generation Reception! Find more information on time and location in the NSW schedule for students and families.
FOCUS
The Focusing On Cultivating Scientists (FOCUS) program provides support for students interested in science and is designed to broaden the participation of historically underserved groups in the sciences. Application to the program starts in the summer before your first year. Find more here.
CUBE
The Carleton Undergraduate Bridge Experience (CUBE) is a six-credit course that begins online the summer before you arrive and continues in the fall. The CUBE program has two goals: prepare you for your quantitative courses, and get to know Carleton better. Find more here.
TRIO
The TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) is a program designed to assist students who are income eligible, first generation college students, and/or students with disabilities in successfully pursuing a college education. The application deadline for first year students is in early summer.
