As VPIEC, Dina provides vision and strategic direction for policy and programming around all aspects of inclusion, equity and community. She will play a leadership role in the implementation of Carleton’s Community Plan for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity — a 10-year plan finalized in the spring of 2022 that seeks to improve the institutional experience of all community members and to fulfill the college’s aspirations to be an inclusive, diverse and equitable institution in ways that are concrete and measurable.
Dina holds a Ph.D. in education from North Dakota State University, an M.A. in instruction from Saint Mary’s University, and an undergraduate degree in modern languages from the University of Wisconsin River Falls.

As the Assistant the VP of Inclusion, Equity, and Community, Deya provides support to the VPIEC and the IEC division in the implementation of Carleton’s Community Plan for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity.
Deya holds an M.A. in marketing communication, and an undergraduate degree in communication and international studies both from Austin Peay State University. In 2019, she was awarded the Fulbright International Education Administrators Grant, which allowed her to visit Germany and learn about their education system.

Marcy Averill was hired in August 2020 as Carleton’s inaugural Indigenous Communities Liaison, a position designed to strengthen the College’s ability to enact its land acknowledgement commitments, partner with tribal governments and Native organizations, and promote the well-being of Native members of the campus community. Such efforts will include, among others, building better relations with Native nations and improving how Carleton engages Native people and Native-related issues on campus.
Rev. Schuyler Vogel is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, with degrees in religion from Carleton College (’07) and Harvard Divinity School (’14). In his role as Chaplain of the College, Schuyler serves as the college’s senior clergyperson and oversees religious, spiritual, and ethical life at Carleton.
At Carleton, Schuyler sits on numerous college committees and boards, including Community, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (CEDI), the Leadership Advisory Board (LAB), the Peer Leader Committee (PLC), Security Planning Group, Indigenous Peoples Advisory Committee (IPAC), the Awards Selection Committee, and the Catastrophic Leave Pool Committee.
In addition to his work at Carleton, Schuyler serves as the President of the St. Lawrence Foundation for Theological Education and as the Secretary of the Human Rights Commission of the City of Northfield.
