Enhancing the Experiences of Queer and Trans College Students: A Radically Inclusive Approach

Creating an inclusive and supportive environment for queer and trans college students is essential for fostering their academic success and overall well-being. A radically inclusive approach goes beyond basic acceptance, aiming to actively dismantle barriers and promote equity.

The session will focus on proactive approaches to inclusion that will create a sense of belonging for LGBTQIA+ students and empower them to thrive. We will discuss the importance of respecting pronouns and using inclusive language. There will be an overview of queer terminology and an introduction to the Gender and Sexuality Galaxy Model. Attendees will also participate in an interactive discussion and work together through scenarios.

This is part of the IDE Community Education workshops and will count as the IDE education requirement. Registration will be required.
