Carleton Political Scientist to Speak on Biopower and Governmentality

Carleton political science professor Mihaela Czobor-Lupp will present a lecture entitled “Foucault on Biopower and Governmentality” on Monday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. in the Gould Library Athenaeum. This event is free and open to the public.

Czobor-Lupp holds both a PhD in government from Georgetown University and a PhD in philosophy from the University of Bucharest, Romania. She specializes in modern and contemporary political theory, democratic theory, critical theory, post-modernism, and politics and literature.

This event is sponsored by the Carleton College Humanities Center, which seeks to create a center for innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty and students. It sponsors diverse programs and events, including this talk, in an effort to facilitate learning and teaching between Carleton’s various academic departments, and by investigating the relationship between the humanities and artistic, ethical, and political issues in the contemporary world.
