Carleton College maintains a directory of all students, staff, and faculty available to those with Carleton accounts. As a part of the directory for faculty and staff, you are able to maintain your own bio page.

By default, the Bio Page will automatically pull in the following information for you:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Department
  • Office location
  • Phone
  • Email
  • Time at the college (“At Carleton since xxxx”)

In addition, there are a number of fields that can be completed to share more information about your professional experience and personal interests.  

To create a Bio Page:

  1. Go to the Campus Directory (make sure you log in)
  2. Click on the yellow “Create My Bio” button
  3. Add an image, if desired.  This image would be used for the campus directory, Faculty/Staff Bio Pages, and Faculty/Staff Listings.
  4. Flip the “Display my bio in the directory” switch to Yes.
  5. Designate a proxy editor (a Carleton person you’d like to grant rights to edit your bio), if desired.
  6. Click “Add a website” if you’d like to include a link to a website or your LinkedIn profile.
  7. Click “Add file” to upload your CV. (tends to be more relevant for faculty)
  8. Enter bio information in the “Biography tab” text box, as desired.
  9. Enter personal interests, if desired.
  10. Scroll up and click the blue “Update” button in the right sidebar.
  11. To check it out, click “Open this Bio” in the Directory Settings & Directory Bio box.
