Furloughs are unpaid leaves of absences that typically last for a short period of time. While on furlough, employees will not work or be paid, but will retain employee status. Under this program, the minimum furlough duration is 1 week and the maximum is 3 months. Non-exempt employees can take furloughs in full or partial weeks. Exempt employees must take furloughs in full week increments.Furlough weeks can be designated intermittently
