10% Retirement Plan Contribution
In support of our employees’ futures, Carleton contributes a generous ten percent of base wage on behalf of the employee to their respective retirement fund.
Tuition Benefits for Dependents
After six years of continuous service, Carleton extends tuition benefits to employees’ dependent children who attend any accredited undergraduate college or university.
Student Loan Forgiveness
Full-time Carleton employees may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance of their Direct Loans after ten years of employment and 120 qualifying payments on those loans.

Carleton will waive tuition charges for benefit-eligible employees—and their spouses or domestic partners—who enroll as special students for one course per academic term.

Fitness Center Access
Carleton’s Fitness Center provides strength and conditioning activities for students, faculty, and staff in a user-friendly environment. The center provides a balance of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The Rec Center is also home to a climbing and bouldering wall, raquetball courts, and more.
Flexwork
Carleton supports flexible work arrangements that help employees accomplish their work while promoting employee wellbeing, staff engagement and retention, and the overall sense of personal empowerment.
Winter Break and Weather Days
To provide employees a collective time for rest and renewal, Carleton plans an annual Winter Break to allow one consecutive week of paid time off at the end of the calendar year. Additionally, eligible employees receive two weather days per year, to be used in cases of extreme weather conditions.
Community Perks
Cowling Arboretum
Our 800-acre arboretum boasts an extensive 15-mile trail system that has been ranked as one of the top 10 places to run in the country. In the winter, trails are groomed for both classic and skate skiing (and free ski rental is available)!
Convocations
The Carleton College Convocations program is a weekly lecture series that brings fresh insights and perspectives from experts in a variety of fields, to stimulate thought and conversation on a wide range of subjects.
