Equal Opportunity for All

Carleton College adheres to the principle that all persons shall have equal opportunity and access to its educational facilities, activities, and employment without regard to race, creed, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, or disability. Carleton College is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees with disabilities.

Pregnancy Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations will be provided to an employee for health conditions related to pregnancy unless the employer demonstrates that the accommodation would impose an undue hardship such as creating a new or additional position in order to accommodate. Certain accommodations, namely (1) more frequent restroom, food and water breaks; (2) seating; or (3) limits on lifting over 20 lbs., will be provided to pregnant employees, upon request, without requiring a doctor’s note.

Commitment to Diversity

The College is committed to eliminating discriminatory practices in recruitment and employment. Responsibility for monitoring diversity has been delegated to Human Resources Department at the operational level.
