On Thursday evening from 5-7 pm, Chad Ellsworth (Career Center Associate Director), Karen Eilers (Program Director for Career Development), and Student Career Assistants James Bowers and Seth Grauer visited Leighton Hall to lead a Humanities-focused CV/Resume workshop with pizza and other refreshments provided. Over the course of the workshop, the attending History students not only learned important qualities of effective résumés and CV’s and how they are interpreted by both human and AI bots, but also strategies for connecting with people and opportunities and how to make the most out of a rich Carleton career in the humanities/ Attendees also were introduced to the many online resources for job exploration offered at the Career Center, and how to make the most of the Career Center’s resources. Bill North and the attendees were very grateful to the Career Center for their time and collaboration. North will be sending out a survey to majors to learn what aspects of career awareness majors and minors would like the Department to explore.
