History professor, Serena Zabin, has been awarded the Robert C. Ritchie Distinguished Fellowship in Early American History at The Huntington Library in San Marino, California. This nine-month residential fellowship will support Prof. Zabin’s new research project, “American Affections: The Life of Mary Fish Noyes Silliman Dickinson, 1736–1818.” Born in the British colony of Connecticut and living through religious revivals, the American Revolution, and the creation of a new nation, Mary Fish Noyes Silliman Dickinson had a front-row seat to the dramas of the United States’ founding. During her fellowship, Prof. Zabin will develop her book, give a public lecture, and engage in the scholarly life of The Huntington through its seminar and conference programs.
