Monk presents church on fragmentary painted background

In the history of the Benedictine monastery of Montecassino, Peter the Deacon looms large as archivist, historian, hagiographer, and more.  Yet he is also known as a writer was prepared--in the interests of his community--not only to document, archive, and articulate but also invent and forge.  Dr. Graham Loud, expert on medieval southern Italy, has been researching Peter the Deacon, his community and its histories for decades--come hear his finding on this fascinating medieval author and institutional advocate.
