Housing & Residential Living
Pets in Student Residential Facilities
Residential students may have properly maintained aquariums for fish in their rooms, provided that the total capacity of all aquariums in a room does not exceed 20 gallons. Failure to properly care for the fish & aquarium will result in loss of this privilege. No other pets are allowed in residential buildings.
While the college does not permit pets in Carleton facilities on campus, it does comply with federal law, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act, in regards to the presence of Service or Emotional Support Animals for individuals with appropriately documented disabilities. Individuals bringing an animal to campus need to complete the necessary steps and paperwork before the animal is brought to campus. See the Animals on Campus Policy for more information.
