NSF CAREER due July 2019

6 March 2019

Tenure-track junior faculty in STEM and the social sciences should consider applying for a five year, $400,000 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) program, which supports early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education, and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Proposals are due during the third week of July yearly.

Christopher Tassava in Corporate & Foundation Relations will be happy to talk with any prospective applicant about CAREER program. NSF Program solicitation 17-537 outlines eligibility specifics, such as being employed in a tenure-track (or tenure-track-equivalent) position as an assistant professor (or equivalent title) as of October 1 after the proposal submission.

For more, read this FAQs page, or register for the webinar to be offered on May 9 from 2-4pm. The CAREER page has a registration link, deadline dates for specific directorates, and links to directorate and division contacts. One key note: prior to submission, applicants are encouraged to discuss their project ideas with the CAREER contact or cognizant Program Officer in the Division closest to their area of research.
