A grant from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education will help fund the Carleton Cupboard during the 2026-2027 academic year.

According to project director Carolyn Livingston, Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students, support from a “Hunger Free Campus” grant will expand the budget of the Carleton Cupboard, located in the lower level of the Sayles-Hill Campus Center. The Cupboard provides food to students who self-identify as impacted by food insecurity during Winter Break and Spring Break. During the 2024-2025 academic year, the Cupboard supported 183 individuals; the new grant is expected to aid at least this many. The Hunger Free Campus grant will help students like these continue to obtain a wide variety of food as well as cooking tools. This grant is the third award from the State of Minnesota to Carleton to mitigate student housing and food insecurity.
