Numerous grants to Science Education Resource Center

Carleton’s Science Education Resource Center (SERC) has received numerous grants in the first half of the 2009-2010 academic year:

·         $40,000 subaward from TERC, a nationally-known education research and development organization, to provide website support for NASA’s “Eyes in the Sky II” project:  (July 2009)

·         $17,000 subgrant by the US Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education to support the collaborative “US-Brazil Higher Education Consortia Program” that involves Colorado College, Carleton, and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. SERC will develop project evaluation methods and conduct project evaluation, along with the development, re-design, and support of an online collaborative project space. (July 2009)

·         $29,555 subaward to host and support a website for a community-college based mathematics-education website. (August 2009)

·         $254,886 grant to run a collaborative research project on climate and energy literacy. (August 2009)

·         $8,000 subcontract to support the Digital Library program run by SENCER, the Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities organization. (November 2009)
