Astrophysical Journal Predecessor Published at Goodsell

The journal Astronomy and Astro-physics was founded at Goodsell Observatory before being sold to the University of Chicago and being renamed Astrophysical Journal, now the preeminent astrophysics journal in the world. Here the current editors and managing editors of APJ hold an original volume of its predecessor, A&A-P. (Left to right, Chris Sneden, Letters Editor; Elizabeth Korves, ApJ Letters Managing Editor; Janice Sexton, ApJ Managing Editor; and Ethan Vishniac, ApJ Editor-in-Chief.)

Many thanks to Prof. Steve Kawaler of Iowa State University, who transported the volume to an APJ editorial meeting in Toronto, spring 2010, and took this photo.
