Carleton Global Engagement Program Scholarship
The scholarship is need-based, and aims to support broader access to study abroad opportunities through Carleton College’s Global Engagement Programs. Scholarship awards typically range from $1000 to $4500.

Scholarship Eligibility
Undergraduate students in good academic standing currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university may apply for this scholarship towards a Carleton Global Engagement study abroad program. In order for the scholarship application to be reviewed, the applicant must have completed a Carleton Global Engagement program application by March 15.
Scholarship Application Cycle and Deadline
- Fall 2025 (India, Tanzania, Europe)
Applications are due no later than March 15, 2025. Unlike the program applications, Carleton does not begin reviewing completed scholarship applications until after March 15.
Conditions of Global Engagement Scholarship Awards
- Scholarship awards will be applied towards the final program fee payment.
- Scholarship awards cannot be used to cover the program deposit ($500).
- Scholarship awards cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Scholarship awards can only be applied to the program fees of the Global Engagement Program to which the student has been accepted.
- Carleton College will report scholarship awards to the Student Financial Aid office and/or the Study Abroad office at the student’s home institution.
Scholarship Application Instructions
- Complete the program application for one of the Carleton Global Engagement Programs.
- Have a pdf of the three following documents available to upload.
- Your most recent Student Aid Report (SAR), (typically from 2024-2025) if applicable. This is a document you are provided after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from the U.S. Department of Education. (Not required if you have never submitted the FAFSA, e.g., international students).
- Your 2024-25 financial aid award letter from your home institution.
- Documentation of costs/fees required by your home institution to study off campus.
- Visit the following application page to start your scholarship application.
- Use the same username and password that you use to log in to your program application.
- Indicate the program to which you have applied, answer the additional questions, and upload the two pdfs in Step 2.
- Submit your completed scholarship application by March 15.
