Liberal Arts Summit

9 May 2018

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, St. Olaf and Carleton students presented their insights into the forces that shape personal and community identities at Liberal Arts Colleges through the lens of interdisciplinary German Studies. Roundtable discussion and audio-visual presentations by students from intermediate and upper-division German language and culture courses illuminated the notion of the liberal arts as the liberating arts, that is, the study of what defines your identity and what power you can gain to change your life and the world. Program language is English. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation’s Broadening the Bridge Initiative. Pictures can be found on Facebook (click on the little Facebook sign on the post below). We also posted a video of the evening on our YouTube Site.
