Each geothermal loop will start at the east edge of the field. The drill bit will emerge on the west side of the field, where piping is attached and pulled back through the freshly drilled hole. As the loop is pulled underneath the ground the hole is filled with thermally conductive grout.
This process is repeated 93 more times until all the bores are drilled across the field. The “tails” at the end of the geothermal piping stick out of the ground along the east edge. These “tails” will be connected to a main line that will connect the bore field to the East Energy Station that will be constructed as part of the Integrated Science Facility.
