My name is Grace Bassekle and I work for the Sustainability Office. Home games for the football season are starting up and we are looking for student volunteers who are interested in helping out with zero waste education at the games—yes, we will train the student volunteers to a comfortable level before each game.
At the Sustainability Office, we understand the interdisciplinary aspect of climate mitigation and climate justice and want to establish and strengthen collaboration efforts between departments. Here’s what we think: Carleton provides us with compostable and recyclable materials for everyday use, and it’s up to the individual to make sure that they dispose of it correctly. Thus, we want to encourage everyday practices of sustainability to students, and to do that we are focusing on proper waste disposal at these events.
