Interns gain hands-on experience guiding glacier tours, receive a monthly stipend, tips, onsite housing, meals, and training. Many students also pursue independent research on the glacier during their free time, which can lead to thesis projects or GSA/AGU abstracts. Past participants have included students from a wide range of fields including most of the sciences, as well as non-science fields such as government, journalism, history, and beyond.
